How to Prepare for the Matrix One IDO?
Solana has been gaining momentum. As we prepare the native Solana integration to be added to our fundraising stack, we are now ready to facilitate the sales for Solana-based projects using our airdrop feature!
In this blog, you will learn everything you need to know before applying for the Matrix One allowlist. Spoiler: you will need a Solana wallet this time. 👀
How will the process unfold for the Matrix One IDO?
Since Matrix One is building on Solana, this IDO will be a bit different from other IDOs in the past.
While contribution (buying allocation) will happen in $USDT on BNB Chain, you will receive the $MATRIX tokens purchased during the sale directly on Solana, thanks to our airdrop feature.
How to proceed? There are 3 steps you will need to take:
- Apply for the allowlist form with both your MetaMask and Solana wallets. Yes, you will need TWO SEPARATE WALLETS this time. If you don’t have a Solana wallet yet, you can create one with the guide we provide below.
- Join the sale on the BNB Chain with your standard $POLS-holding MetaMask wallet. The specific chain is yet to be decided, but you will only need to connect your MetaMask wallet for this part of the process. No need to connect your Solana wallet to our website.
- After successfully participating in the sale, your $MATRIX tokens will be automatically airdropped to the Solana wallet you provided in the allowlist form. No claiming step this time.
⚠ We cannot stress it enough: you need to provide the correct wallet addresses under your custody (not the exchange wallets) in the allowlist form, for both your MetaMask and Solana wallets — there will be NO WAY to edit them after submitting your application. ⚠
How to create a Solana wallet?
Just like with EVM-compatible wallets, there is a plethora of choices. You are welcome to do your own research and choose the one that suits you best.
In this blog, we will guide you through the steps of creating the Phantom wallet, one of the most trusted and widely utilized Solana wallets available, and the one we recommend.
Step 1: Download the Phantom browser extension.
You will find the Chrome extension directly here and the extensions for all other browsers on the Phantom website.
Step 2: Create your brand new Solana wallet
Follow the steps on the Phantom website to get your wallet set up. Remember to save your seed phrase. It’s best to just write it down on paper and keep it in a theft and fire-secured place.
