How to Participate in a Polygon Pool during a Polkastarter IDO
Polkastarter IDOs are live on Polygon! Participating in a Polygon IDO for the first time? Here’s what you need to know.
The Polkastarter blog has moved! Visit https://blog.polkastarter.com to read this article and stay up to date with Polkastarter.
Recently, we announced that the Polygon (prev. Matic) Network would now support Polkastarter IDO pools. Tomorrow, on June 15, the first Polkastarter IDO on Polygon will go live with meme.com!
If you’re already an avid Polygon user or you’re eager to start participating in the Polygon pools in the future, we’ve put together this tutorial guide to help you navigate when you participate in future IDOs.
Before you Start
- You will need MATIC in order to participate in the Polygon Pools to pay for the network fees. You can buy MATIC on Uniswap, Coinbase, and other exchanges. And you can buy MATIC on the Polygon network on Quickswap and Dfyn.
- If you have never used the Polygon network before, check out this tutorial from Binary Assets and ensure your Polygon wallet is connected and funded before attempting to participate in a Polkastarter IDO Polygon pool. After you’ve successfully connected your MetaMask to Polygon, proceed with the steps below:
Go to Polkastarter.com and click “Go to App” in the top right corner.
Step 2: Select Polygon
On the top right hand corner of the site, you’ll see a dropdown button that says “Ethereum” or “BSC”.
Click on the network name and a drop down menu will display all available networks. You should see “Polygon”. Click on it.
Step 3: Confirm
The Polkastarter site is now displaying Polygon Pools! If your wallet has a message saying you have selected the wrong network, please connect your MetaMask to Polygon and reconnect Polkastarter with steps 1 and 2 above.
Step 4: IDO!
From here, you’re ready to participate in future Polkastarter IDOs on the Polygon network.
What about $POLS pools?
On Polkastarter IDOs, users must be holding onto at least 250 POLS or provide liquidity on Uniswap or Pancakeswap in order to be eligible for whitelisting. You can complete steps 1–3 before the IDO, and we recommend doing so to ensure everything works smoothly with your MetaMask and Polygon.
And yes — it’s that easy! This is just the beginning for Polkastarter cross-chain interoperability 💪
